Board of Directors

Sharon Morin, President

Born into a large politically active Metis family of 8, I spent a lot of time participating in many political and cultural activities and in many ways lived a traditional Metis life. After finishing off school, I took various business courses and worked for a period at Metis Urban Housing.
I am married and have 4 handsome sons with my husband of 21 years. Once the children were school age I started vol- unteering with my mother Senator Thelma Chalifoux. Together we started the Michif Cultural and Resource Institute, which is a Metis Living Museum and resource center located in historical St. Albert. For the last 4 years I have been the Lead Aboriginal Programmer at the Musee Heritage Museum in St. Albert. I have been involved with the AWPA for the last 5 years and am excited about the direction and future of both organizations that are so close to my heart.
